I have recently posted a number of times regarding different exhaust systems. My last post was a question on pricing for the Stillen Catback system for my 91 TTZ. Yes, Stillen is expensive and in my long "exhaust"ive search for a system for my baby I've pretty much come down to like 4 manufacturers; Stillen, Borla, B&B, and Thermal Research. Here are the pros and cons for each in MY eyes. Stillen-Pros- Nice exhaust sound, good quality, fitment and I want to go for the stock look with twin tips. Con- The price. Borla Pros- Nice not too loud exhaust, the stock look Cons- Tips are too long to me, and I've heard some people complain about the quality of the mufflers. Finally the price almost equal to Stillen's. B&B Pros- Nice looks, quality, the stock look. Cons- The price and loudness of the exhaust. Thermal Pros- Nice looks, quality, and the stock look. Res. Cons- Discontinued system, Price is still a high. What I've learned is no matter what a good system is gonna cost some $$$$s. Thermal Research exhausts no one seems to have one in stock to ship and they don't make em anymore, so they are kinda out. Borla, for the price I could get a better system I think. B&B is too loud from what I hear although I like the look of the system. Stillen's system at this point in time is the one that appeals the best to me. I know other's have their own opinions about Stillen but I think you pay for what you get when it comes to auto parts. If someone can prove to me that B&B's are quieter than Stillen's then I'll put B&B's on top of my list. HONESTLY I'm still researching and it's kinda like torture whenever I think about what exhaust I want. Tell me what you guys think about my choiced and maybe it will help me. I don't mean to start a debate (even though I know this will happen) but I need to do this... hehe.
